Maria grew up playing the violin and piano. She completed her studies at the University of Calgary under the direction of Edmond Agopian and also acquired her ARCT certification. She has performed concerts, festivals, and public functions throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. Maria has earned praise from appreciative fans for her passionate renditions of a wide variety of music styles, both as a fine soloist and chamber musician. Also prominent as an educator, clinician and adjudicator, Maria continues to make a valuable and ongoing contribution to the cultural life of Alberta.

Brilliant concert pianist, organist and harpsichordist, she has toured Europe and America as a soloist and chamber musician. She was the first Canadian artist invited to perform at St. Cecilia's Hall (Russell Collection of Early Keyboards) at the request of the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), during the Edinburgh Festival in the year 2000.
In Calgary, she has performed for Celebrity Series, New Works, Millennium Music and the Calgary Bach Festival Society as a soloist and in ensemble with Rosa Selvatica, and the Kensington Sinfonia since 1996. She has also been engaged for concerts with the Banff Centre Chamber Group and has been recorded for a number of CBC broadcasts. Grace has also served as head organist at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Sacred Heart Churches. In 2004 she worked as Principal Accompanist for the Calgary Boys Choir and the Alberta Children's Honour Choir.
In her 25 years as music educator and clinician, Grace has worked extensively in Argentina, in the U.S.A as a certified member of the M.T.N.A. (Music National Teachers Association) and presently in Canada as a teacher of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, incorporating interactive disciplines to her teaching and instructing students with learning disabilities.

Kaila Jensen
Piano, Violin
Kaila Jensen started her musical education when she was six years old through the Kodaly program at Mount Royal College. Currently working towards her RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) Exam, she is actively coaching students and is becoming more integrated in the musical community here in Calgary. Kaila is a member of the Calgary Youth Orchestra here in Calgary directed by Edmund Agopian. As well as being a truly gifted violinist, she is also an exceptional piano player. She enjoys playing and listening to all kinds of music, especially classical and rock. Crescendo Music Studio is proud to have Kaila as part of their team this fall.
Amy Russell
Violin, Group Lesson Coach
Amy Russell started her violin lessons at the age of 8 years old and had studied with Laurie Syer. She attended Strings and Keys classical music camp for 4 summers, Red Deer College's Fiddle camp for one year and Fiddlemania Camp for 3 years. She was a member of Bergen Strings classical performance group for 5 years and has been a member of 7 Fiddlesworth (formerly the E-String Gang) for 5 years. She has performed at various venues over the years including the Mountainview Music Festival and the Water Valley Celtic Music Festival. There is a CD planned for 2009! Along with violin, Amy has grade 8 flute and grade 6 alto saxophone. She played sax in a jazz band for 2 years. Her other instruments include: bodhran (celtic drum), tin whistle and mandolin.
